The museum on Grand Avenue is found in downtown LA and boasts over 5,000 items. You will not find any ancient artwork at MOCA though because everything they have is from 1940 and newer. Some of the big names include Jackson Pollock, Jasper Johns, Franz Kline, Susan Rothenberg, and Roy Lichtenstein.

Discover Manhattan And Hermosa Beaches

We tell all of our Australian to head to the South Bay beaches of Manhattan and Hermosa, which are not far from LAX.

These beach towns are two of the best places in Los Angeles that offer a local vibe and feel, especially compared to the over touristy Santa Monica, and Venice.

If you enjoy beach volleyball, then Manhattan Beach and Hermosa are the best places to visit in Los Angeles to have a friendly game. In fact, they call Manhattan Beach the Volleyball Capital of the World.

For some amazing free views over the city of Los Angeles, head to the City Hall any weekday between 8am and 5pm. The Art Deco City Hall itself is worth the visit. To get to the observation deck, walk through the public entrance off of Main Street, grab your Visitor pass from the desk and take the elevator to the 22nd floor, where youll then take another elevator up to the 26th floor.

Watch The Surfers Do Their Thing

It’s no secret that the beaches in the Los Angeles area are home to some of the greatest waves on earth. All along the Pacific Coast, you’ll be able to catch sight of surfers doing their thing any time of year, especially if there’s a storm brewing and the waves are higher than usual.
