Hollyhock House is located within Barnsdall Art Park, which has been previously mentioned on this list. Designed by the famous Frank Lloyd Wright, Hollyhock House was built between 1919 and 1921. It was the first house built by Wright in Los Angeles, and represents his first attempt at a style of architecture that would suit Southern California. Visitors to Hollyhock House can explore the house and gardens to see the seamless combinations of indoor and outdoor space, the lovely rooftop terraces, and the incorporated hollyhock flowers from which the house gleaned its name. Hollyhock House is open for visitation Tuesday through Sunday, and docent-led tours are offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays by reservation.

You can see the world-famous Hollywood sign from all over town. You could probably spend a whole day just driving around to all the places where you can see it.
Even though you can’t get close enough to touch it, and it’s getting harder to access the hiking trails that take you closer to it, you can still see the sign from a lot of places, either from your car or your own two feet. Whatever you do, don’t try to access the sign by going over the fenceit’s heavily guarded.

This bookstore feels like youre walking into a fairytale world. They carry new and used books, but the big draw are the permanent artistic creations that literally have the pages from books flying.
The Venice Canals are hidden right between the Venice Boardwalk and Abbot Kinney. The three canal-lined blocks have beautiful pedestrian bridges and cute beach houses. You can even bring a non-motorized vessel or paddle board and view the neighborhood from the water.

Learn Something New At The California Science Center
The Los Angeles California Science Center is a popular free museum next to the Natural History Museum and USC in Exposition Park. It was established in 1951 and has a variety of exhibits from aircraft to zeolites and everything in between.
One of the most popular collections is the space exhibits with famous aircraft like the Space Shuttle Endeavor and the Gemini 11 from 1966. Eight Beaches So Many Ways To Play
Enjoy a day of fun in the sun at eight distinct beaches in Greater Fort Lauderdale, spanning 24 miles. Meditate as you watch the sunrise on beautiful Deerfield Beach, Greater Fort Lauderdales cove-like beach with a fishing pier, sand volleyball courts and surf lessons. Hillsboro Beach boasts the brightest lighthouse on the East Coast with monthly tours through the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society. Heading south, enjoy Pompano Beach, a favorite spot for families with playgrounds, a fishing pier, dive shops and boat charters. Will Rogers State Historic Park
This park isnt just named after famous actor Will Rogers, it was also his former estate until his sudden death.
Located in the Santa Monica Mountains, there are various activities you can enjoy in the historic park.
Take a tour of the original ranch from Thursday-Sunday or tackle one of the moderate two-mile hikes on the property.
Other options for things to do include horseback riding lessons and tours every day except Monday with Westside Riding School, plenty of picnicking opportunities, polo games, and even movies in the park.
This is one of the best parks in Los Angeles for its sheer variety of things to do.

Joshua Tree National Park
Joshua Tree features a unique desert landscape full of funky-looking Joshua Trees, cholla cacti, and a ton of good hiking opportunities.
If youre looking for unique spots to visit in Southern California, Joshua Tree is probably my favorite trip from this list.
Its definitely worth visiting the park for a couple of days if you have the time to really explore it.
