Valentines Day is Monday, February 14, so you have a few days to get it together!

Decorate your kitchen table the night before: When your kids wake up and come to breakfast, surprise them with a decorated table filled with Valentines Day cards and candies.

Bake! Baking with kids is great for kids spacial skills, hand-eye-coordination, and overall brain development. By baking rolled sugar cookies or a simple recipe.

Serve a sweet snack! Valentines Day-themed snacks are as simple as using a heart cookie cutter to shape a peanut butter sandwich. A few more ideas for themed snacks would be: heart-shaped Rice Krispy Treats , homemade chocolate hearts or Valentines Day popcorn: just add pink, red and white M& Ms and mini marshmallows.

Play a Valentines Game: Like a scavenger hunt using things that remind your kids of love . Or, Pin the Tail on the Human using a stick-figure human you craft yourself and paper hearts. Theres also the sweet game, I Love You Because, using a wooden spoon as a magic wand. Sit in a circle and when its your turn to hold the wand, point it at someone and say, I love you because ______. The Goo Goo Chocolate Co

The Goo Goo Chocolate Co., home to Goo Goo Clusters, is more than a place to pick up a box of the signature candy. Which you should definitely do. You can also make your own candy at an interactive class, while learning about the clusters history. Or you can watch the candy being made. The newly renovated space includes Design Your Own Confection Stations and new full-service Chocolate Bar offering milkshakes and other sweet treats.

The family-owned business, part of the downtown Nashville landscape since 1912, makes original Goo Goo Clusters with milk chocolate, caramel, peanuts and marshmallow nougat. Personally, I say try the Peanut Butter Goo Goo, made with peanut butter, peanuts, and milk chocolate. And the Peanut Butter and Pretzel Premium, which is covered in dark chocolate. Of course, you can just conduct your own taste test of all the Goo Goo Clusters.

Things To Do With Teenagers In Nashville

Things To Do With Kids in Nashville | A Day in the Life

Many of the items above are great for young kids and teenagers but there are a few items for those who don’t consider themselves kids but can’t get into the honky-tonks at night.

Live Music

If you have older music lovers, you’ll find that a lot of music venues don’t require you to be over 18+ to enjoy.

Places like Bluebird Cafe and Station Inn allow kids, as long as they can sit quietly so it’s not the best for toddlers but teenagers will enjoy the show.

Go for a Bike Ride

If you have some teenagers on your family vacation, you could rent a bike from Nashville B-cycle. One 1-hour rental will cost just $5, but you can take the bike out for longer.

You can take a family ride through off-street trails on the greenways and traverse pedestrian bridges, or just use them to get between neighborhoods.

Rocketown is a large entertainment complex geared towards teenagers. Its main draw is the only indoor skate park in the city. They offer equipment rentals in the skate shop.

The park hours change, so check the website for details.

Explore Honky Tonk Highway

45 Free Things to do in Nashville Tennessee Video # ...

Nashvilles nickname is Music City for good reason. The famous Honky Tonk Highway is home to countless music venues on the Upper and Lower Broadway streets.

Take a walk up and down the famous street, lined with free music venues, restaurants, western wear stores, and gastropubs.

Music is always playing on Honky Tonk Highway, whether from a street performer or inside.

You can find Alan Jacksons bar, AJs Good Time Bar, or the Whiskey Row gastropub which is owned by Dierks Bentley. Both, of course, offer live music.

Many of the venues have a cover charge or may be adults-only at night.

But, no matter what time of day you visit, you don’t have to go inside to hear the music, often performed on stages by street with the windows open!

You can even get the whole family outfitted in cowboy boots and hats at Boot Country, which is known for their 3 pairs of boots for the price of 1 pair year-round deal.

National Museum Of African American Music

Nashville, Tennessee has been known as the Music City since the 1800s. So it makes sense that the National Museum of African American Music opened here in 2021.

You start your tour with a short film about the evolution of different music genres: spiritual, blues, jazz, gospel, R& B and hip hop. Then you see instruments, costumes and interactive exhibits. You can even sing with a choir or rap along with others. Even though Covid concerns led me to keep my hands to myself, the immersive museum was fun and instructive.
