Ride The Ferris Wheel At Wheeler Riverfront Plaza
Along the Oklahoma River, just southwest of downtown, youll find an area of Oklahoma City that is quickly growing and development. Wheeler Riverfront Plaza is home to a 10-foot tall OKC sign, a few food trucks, and a semi-famous Ferris Wheel. The Ferris Wheel used to sit on Californias iconic Santa Monica Pier, and has been featured in 28 movies, including Iron Man.
The Wheeler District is an up-and-coming, mix-use urban development with an emphasis on providing a safe area for pedestrian and cyclists. As it continues to grow and expand, the district will likely become one of Oklahoma Citys premier neighborhoods, and it already has a good start with its trendy riverfront plaza.

I like the latter, touring with Ride OKC because you can get local guides who know the area, the history, and the best food stops. We have taken media tours with them and can say that they are fantastic! Owner Ryan is a local architect and has a wealth of knowledge . If you like cookies, definitely take the Cookie Tour that stops at 5 local restaurants all serving a killer chocolate chip cookie. You can book current tours with Ride OKC through Viator too.

Cruise The City By Streetcar
The downtown neighborhoods have many places to visit in OKC. The streetcar loops through them and provides you a great way to get around. We like parking and then hopping on the streetcar. It is a great way to see the city. If you are staying downtown, there are stops near most of the areas hotels. A few friends talked about doing a Nacho/Taco Tour and a Brewery Tour and visiting stops along the streetcar route. I think this idea has GREAT potential.

Experience Okcs Western Heritage In The Historic Stockyards City
The Oklahoma City Stockyards is one of the best places in Oklahoma to learn about the states western heritage and to find western clothing, souvenirs, and food. Similar in nature to the Fort Worth Historic Stockyards, yo can try on some cowboy boots and western wear in one of several shops and stores. Afterward, have dinner at the famous Cattlemens Steakhouse. Cattlemens is the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Oklahoma City, but dont expect many vegetarian or vegan menu options. As the name suggests, Cattlemens is a steakhouse. However, there are plenty of incredible vegan restaurants in Oklahoma City if you follow a plant-based diet.

Enjoy A Little Bowling & Dining At Hey Day
Over in Bricktown is Hey Day Bowling, Arcade & Dining. This is a great place to catch a game while having fun with the family Their bowling alley is filled with giant T.V. screens to enjoy while you get your bowling on. The best part is the waiter service to your lane.
You get to just kick back and enjoy bowling with your family and friends while food and drinks are served at your will. My husband really loved the bowling the most, but I think it is just because he won.
After you are done bowling you can head upstairs to the arcade for some pop a shot, skeeball and more. Hey Day is walking distance from the baseball park and Chesapeake arena so it is the perfect place to stop before a game.
