The Bill & Hillary Clinton National Airport is conveniently located just east of the city. Visitors can fly into the city via major airlines. Little Rock is also located near several major US interstates. That makes the city a great stop for road trippers.

To explore Little Rock thoroughly, a car is the best way to get around. Visitors staying downtown can walk and use public transportation and the free streetcar. There is also Uber and taxi services.

The Arkansas State Fair is a good old-fashioned state fair like you remember from your younger days. Our Fall break visit to Little Rock just happened to coincide with the final weekend of the fair. Our hotel had discount admission coupons, so off we went to the fair one evening. Cold lemonade, hot corn dogs and dizzying rides soon had us all on stimulation overload. The sole purpose of the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is collecting, preserving, interpreting, and also celebrating African American history from the year 1870 till date.

This event, sponsored by Little Rock Family, will include festive lobby shopping from 1-4:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, both before and after a matinee performance of A Christmas Carol, The Musical at 2 p.m. There will be a variety of vendors on hand with everything from jewelry and apparel to monogrammed gifts and more. Museum Of Discovery Little Rock Arkansas

Located on President Clinton Avenue in downtown Little Rock, the Museum of Discovery is a history and natural science facility and the oldest museum in the city. Bernie Babcock established the museum as the Arkansas Museum of Natural History and Antiquities in 1927. After moving to the River Market in 1998, it changed its name to the Museum of Discovery. A submarine is not what you expect to find in a land locked, southern state but thats exactly what youll see when you visit Little Rock. The Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum is the only place in the world where you can tour a tugboat that participated in Pearl Harbor the beginning of World War II and a submarine that was actually in Japan during the formal surrender that ended the war.

On the tour, visitors get an up close look at the USS Razorback. After all, Arkansas is the home of the Razorbacks. The submarine is a 90% operational submarine thats been kept almost as it was in wartime.

Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site was the site of struggles over school desegregation in 1957. Nine African-American teenagers were entering their first day of school at a time when desegregation of the schools was just beginning. That day went down in the history of the Civil Rights movement as being a pivotal event.

The U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division was brought to Little Rock to escort the nine students into the school on the next day. Little Rock Central High is still an active school, and the only way to tour this historic site is by reserving a ranger-led tour ahead of time.
