Kids Can Show Off Their Skills At The College Basketball Experience
The CBE is unlike anything Ive ever seen before, part Hall of Fame museum, part interactive play area. Located at Sprint Center, this place is a kids dream. They have the opportunity to shoot hoops on a full size court, play timed skill games, dunk a basketball, and play basketball arcade games.
There is a section for Hall of Fame inductees, but most kids wont be interested. Im a huge college basketball fan and will say I was a bit disappointed because it is not a College Basketball historical museum as one might expect, no real artifacts, etc. .
Of course, most kids arent looking for a history lesson and would gladly spend hours here, so bring some comfy shoes and join in the fun!

Have Fun On A Kansas Farm
Agriculture flourishes in Kansas where amber waves of grain beget the American breadbasket. The perfect place to teach kids that supper doesnt come from a big box grocery store is the Deanna Rose Childrens Farmstead.
This turn-of-the-century farmstead preserves a way of life that many city-dwelling kids have yet to experience. The farmstead showcases a one-room schoolhouse, dairy barn, old-time fishing pond, and nearly 200 farm animals and birds of prey. Kids are asked to help out with the farm chores by bottle-feeding baby goats and milking cows.
After finishing farm chores, kids can hop on a pony, ride in a wagon, fish in the pond, and race their own pedal tractor. Hitch up those wagons and head to the farm where kids can learn where the American breadbasket gets filled.

The Museums At 18th And Vine
On our second evening, we visited the museums at 18th and Vine, right in Kansas City, MO, home to both the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the American Jazz Museum. Both museums help tell an important part of American History. The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum offers a self-guided tour, the centerpiece of which is the baseball diamond featuring life-sized bronze statues of some of the top players. Theres also a documentary film which is narrated by James Earl Jones.
Across the hallway within the same building is the American Jazz Museum, which offers both permanent and traveling interactive exhibits. The museum also includes performance space and a nightclub. These two museums are both fun to visit, and should definitely be included in any list of things to do in Kansas City.
