Biloxis Mardi Gras Museum is a tribute to the Fat Tuesday holiday that plays such an important role in the life of the Gulf Coast. The small museum is placed inside the historic Magnolia Hotel, which itself is an interesting example of regional architecture. On display are informational placards that discuss the history of and interesting facts about the Mardi Gras holiday and its celebration. However, the most impressive aspect of the Mardi Gras Museum is its costume display. The outfits shown off here are garish, sequin-covered numbers appropriate for the pomp and excitement that embody Mardi Gras. The facility has a small gift shop.

Clearly lots of choices to rest your head along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I experienced only one but heard plenty of family fun buzz about another.
Beau Rivage Resort & Casino is the darling of casino enthusiasts. I dont qualify, but found plenty to admire and enjoy.
Go for the green. Expansive flower gardens adorn all the public spaces, well worth admiring, perching nearby and breathing in the freshness.
The sheer volume of dining options is a sight to behold. Even the kids could be fascinated by a behind-the-scenes culinary tourmostly for the skills needed to feed so many in so many ways.

If the family still needs fun after all the Biloxi and nearby-town experiences, Margaritaville offers an active list.

Historic Oyster Schooners Biloxi
Plan a summer vacation in Biloxi and the kids could go to Maritime Museum Sea and Sail Adventure day camps in June and July. Ages six to eight and nine to 12 are the groupings.
Sail on a 65-foot oyster schooner with two mastsas a charter or six-person minimum walk on. But toddlers need to be at least three years old. The Museums late 1800s schooner sails the Mississippi Sound and the Gulf of Mexico.

Hurricane Katrina Memorial Biloxi Mississippi
Hurricane Katrina was an incredibly significant event in the lives of Biloxi citizens. As one of the largest cities along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Biloxi was hit especially hard by this vicious natural disaster. The memorial on Biloxis main street is a fitting tribute to this massive tragedy and the impact it had on the community. The Hurricane Katrina Memorial consists of several partsone plaque describes the devastation the storm brought on the area, while another depicts a map that further illustrates the hurricanes impact. A second piece of the memorial, which rises a symbolic 12 feet, the height the water level reached during the storm, lists the names of those who died or went missing during Katrina. A case also contains items found by residents from the nearby buildings.
