Have Fun At One Of The Gay Bars
New York is one of the most diverse cities in the world, where you would run into two guys walking hand in hand on the street and girls having a romantic dinner in the restaurant along 9th Ave, Hells Kitchen.
Yes, here in New York, love between all genders, races, and ages is equal and worth being celebrated. In addition to the colorful Gay Pride Parade that runs through the city each year in June, New York is also home to many vibrant gay bars that worth your visit for a hot night.
Most of the popular gay bars are located in Hells Kitchen, Williamsburg, and West Village. I have been to a few in the last three years, and some of my favorites are Therapy and Industry in Hells Kitchen, Nowhere, and The Cock in West Village.

No2 Cool Thing To Do In New York Watch A Piano Performance At A Park

On Saturday mornings, have a stroll around Washington Square Park for music performances and piano playing, live. Bring a book and a coffee and enjoy the beautiful show.
The piano man as he is amicably known, has been playing on Washington Square for 12 years, he even has his own Wikipedia page and a .
Every morning, Colin Hugins brings his piano all the way from his apartment to the square to play. He drags it across the streets of New York City on wheels and then places it there. He often plays 12h a day.
I thought this was a one off during my trips but it is actually a regular thing, he plays almost every day. How about watching a free piano performance at a park for a fun thing to do in New York City? I told you that New York does this best than any other city.

Top Of The Rock: Die Aussichtsplattform Vom Rockefeller Center
Another great idea to check out in New York City is Top of the Rock. From here youll have great views of the Empire State Building, Midtown Manhattan, and our beautiful Central Park. While there is no set date yet when Top of the Rock is going to reopen, tickets are on sale starting August now.
The 360-degree views from the observation deck are simply stunning. Again, this is probably not on your list when lots of visitors are in town, but now with the city being less crowded, this can be the perfect date idea or just a friendly reminder of how stunning NYC looks from above.
If you want to get out of town but dont want to go too far head to Jackson, NJ to have some fun at Six Flags Great Adventure. At reduced capacity and with many safety precautions Six Flags opened in July for this years season. Six Flags Great Adventure and Hurricane Harbor are beloved outdoor destinations for so many in the Northeast and Im super excited for it to be back open.
To avoid lines and overcrowding the park will work with an online reservation system to manage attendance, schedule guests for entry by day, and to stagger arrival times to minimize proximity exposure.

Do Souvenir Shopping At Times Square
While at Times Square, dont forget to stop by a gift store and grab a souvenir for your friends and families. Some of my favorite and legitimate ones are Disney Stores, Line Friends, and M& Ms World. They all have items designed with some New York elements, such as Minnie Mouse or Ms. Green plushies in Statue of Liberty costume.
On the other hand, try to avoid these brightly lit souvenir shops unless it has something you desperately want there. It is often a rip-off, and the quality sucks.

Take The Ferry From Staten Island

Staten Island? What is that? If this is your first time in New York City, you might have not heard of Staten Island. In fact, Staten Island is the forgotten borough of NYC.Even though there is not much to do in Staten Island from a touristy point of view, the Staten Island ferry is a way to see the beautiful waterfront of NYC as well as having a closer look at the Statue of Liberty. In my opinion, the Staten Island ferry is the best place to see the Statue of Liberty. You are not too close and not too far. And you also have the Manhattan skyline as the background for your photos! What you should not do in New York City is to take one of that overpriced Statue of Liberty cruises if you want a good view of the statue! You are too close for a nice photo! Is it weird to take the Staten Island Ferry? Yes, but it is so worth it. I would consider this activity a top unusual thing to do in NYC as a tourist!
