Tempe Mission Palms Hotel & Conference Center
Tempe Mission Palms was one of the best hotels Ive visited in a long time. The interior is reflective of the desert surroundings, with cactus wallpaper in the elevators, succulents in colorful pots on wood tables and some of the most beautiful chairs Ive ever seen.
The service was so good, so personalized, that I almost forgot travel isnt always so lovely ha! The hotels location can not be beat. Right in the heart of downtown, I was able to walk to Tempe Town Lake, all the ASU attractions and facilities and endless food/shopping options like Snakes and Lattes, Culinary Dropout and House of Tricks.
I stayed in an incredible corner suite overlooking downtown Tempe, the ASU Sun Devil Stadium and A Mountain. There are also courtyard view rooms overlooking the fountain and tall palm trees, and pool view rooms, too.

What To Eat And Drink Tempe Arizona
One of the best things to do in Tempe is to sample all of the local food! Tempe has an up-and-coming foodie scene and there are so many delicious dining options, with any kind of cuisine you can imagine. I always plan my trips around food, so I was super excited about this, and it sure did not disappoint! Eating all the delicious food here was one of my favorite things to do in Tempe. Here are my picks for the top places to eat in Tempe:
Walk Down Mill Avenue
Tempe, Arizonas Mill Avenue has developed into an eclectic, urban oasis during the past 130 years. Its a place that has embraced both the past and future. Although Tempe local residents werent happy with all the changes of the corporate chain restaurants and stores, the Mill Avenue experience today is far different from that of the 1970s and its now the coolest place to be in the Phoenix area.
Mill Avenue is more like a city room rather than a street. Here some events are planned and others happen spontaneously. You will love taking in Mill Avenues atmosphere. If youre into indie films, you must see whats playing at Valley Art. Its the oldest theatre in the Phoenix Valley.
Mill Avenue is the most walkable neighborhood of Tempes and you will see pedestrians fill the sidewalks crossing beneath mature shade trees and past historic storefronts. Though most of the establishments are now corporate, there are still plenty of local businessesshops, bars, or eateries. So itd be easy to spend a whole evening going on a bar crawl, and later on, you may find yourself burning through all your cash while shopping. The restaurants, bars, and local shops are scrawled all over within walking distance.
