This whale watching experience combines adventure, science, and fun in a protected marine habitat. Dr. Carole Carlson and the Dolphin Fleet have developed a presentation aboard the vessels, telling a compelling story about how the whales make their home in Stellwagen Bank and how the smallest microscopic plant and animal marine life is connected to the whales in a food chain that thrives on the geological formations within the Stellwagen Bank and Cape Cod Bay marine habitats.
Passengers joining these trips are given the Naturalists Guide, a comprehensive field guide to Stellwagen Bank illustrating the connections of small and great creatures both winged and finned. The House of the Seven Gables is one whose name you may recognize from the similarly titled 1851 novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Thats because that book is based on the actual house in question, which is known as the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion.
It sits at Salem Harbor in Massachusetts, right on the water, and was built in 1668.
The House of the Seven Gables has a unique construction that includes a dark and atmospheric facade, numerous pointed gables that may have contributed to its name, and several chimneys.
Tours of the house showcase the history of the mansion while providing information on the life and work of Hawthorne, the background of the town of Salem, and the chance to go through a secret passage.
Theres also a softer, kinder story to The House of the Seven Gables and how it became one of the most well-known local tourist attractions.
It was founded as a museum by preservationist and philanthropist Caroline Emmerton who purchased the mansion in 1908 and fully restored it to preserve it for generations to come and provide funding for immigrant settlement programs.

Discover the Cape Cod Canal with a lot of fun and recreation. Bike, walk, picnic, grill, and more along the Cape Cod Canal for some free family fun. There are multiple canal access points along both sides of the Canal and there are restrooms, picnic areas and free parking lots. For more information, please head here.

Bring the little ones to the Sandwich Fish Hatchery to see and feed the fish. It is free to visit, but you may want to bring some quarters with you as it is .25 to get fish food from dispensers to feed the fish . You may also want to bring a cup or a small container with you for the fish food too. If you have a car, head south to the Samuel Adams Brewery, just a short five-mile drive from Downtown Boston. Here, you can go on a free 45-minute brewery tour, with a complimentary beer tasting at the end.

Woods Hole Science Aquarium: Seals And More
This is a lovely place to watch the marine life. There are 140 species including seals, dolphins, sea turtle whales & corals. They even offer several programs on turtle and seal conservation and collecting walks in local marshes. It is an enriching experience for children and adults. You can even do an internship with them.
